The Stock Exchange of Thailand composite index fell 0.70 per cent today or 5.99 points to 855.52 in line with the region’s decline over lingering U.S. sub-prime woes and global ever-changing demand for oil. Losers outnumber gainers 230 to 110 with 117 remain unchanged. “The market still waits and sees the region’s movement with close eyes on expanding U.S. mortgage crunch and rising in the oil price,” said Paranee Thongyen, a trader at Asia Plus Securities. The day’s most noticeable deals involved PTT (387.00 +0.00 +0.00%); SCC (240.00 -2.00 -0.83%); PTTEP (141.00 -2.00 -1.42%); TOP (86.50 -1.50 -1.73%); and ADVANC (88.50 -1.50 -1.67%).
