IPOs to accelerate in second half, Patareeya says

The initial public offering may more than double from the first six months in the second half, according to the Stock Exchange of Thailand’s president Patareeya Benjapolchai.

She said the market is expecting as many as 12 IPOs by the end of December, compared with five so far this year.

Ms. Patareeya said in an interview that companies are new accelerating their share sales as the demand prices become strong, citing she is leading a group of executives from 10 biggest Thai companies to meet investors in New York and London this month.

Vana Bulbon, chief executive officer of UOB Asset Management (Thai) Co., said foreign investors are returning to the market after the country’s long-political chaos ended.
