Thailand was voted the “Best Tourist Country” for seven consecutive years in a row by over 400 travel companies in Oslo, Norway.

The country received more than 10 awards related to the tourism industry from the Norwegian voters, including “Best International Airline” award.

Thailand remains on top of tourist destination for many Norwegians. In 2009, it recorded to welcome more than 150 thousands of Norwegian tourists from Norway’s 4 million in population.

“The land of smile” was also awarded the title of “Golf Destination of the Year” for Asia & Australasia by the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO).

The award was received at the International Golf Travel Market conference and trade show in Malaga, Spain, in November 2009.
