Toyota, to build diesel, hybrid engine plant in Thailand

Toyota Motor Corp said on Tuesday it would build a new diesel engine factory in Thailand for 17.3 billion yen ($162 million) with capacity of 150,000 units per annum.

Vehicle sales expected to grow despite oil jump

Thailand’s total vehicle sale is expected to reach forecasted target despite higher oil prices, said Vehicle Industry Association president Suparat Sirisuwanangkul.

Yontrakit plans to build sport car

Automobile distributor Yontrakit said it is mulling the production of Japanese’s Mitsuoka sport car in Thailand.

PTT will rise gas prices as diesel top $127

Energy Ministry is talking with energy firms to discuss the oil prices after diesel surpassed $127 a barrel in Singapore market.
In the meantime, PTT, an energy provider, said it will revise the pump prices upwards in a couple of days.
