Bangkok Bank (BBL) posted a smaller-than-expected 16 percent fall in the third quarter net profit on Monday, beating analysts’ forecasts, hurt by losses on an investment in Lehman Brothers bonds. BBL reported a quarterly net profit of 4.32 billion baht, or 2.26 baht per share, against 5.15 baht per share a year earlier.

Siam Cement Plc (SCC)’s earnings are expected to fall in the third quarter in absence of extra gain from assets sales and weak economy. The company core petrochemical business remains weak due to deteriorating in demand, analysts said.
