TV ad spending rise for first time in 5 months

Television advertisement rose 2.96 percent from the previous month to 4.42 billion baht in July, the industry’s advance for the first time in five months, according to Neilson Co., Ltd.

The marketing research house said the advertisement spending also grows at the internet section to 20 million baht or, 42.86 percent increased as of July.

Top advertisers involved in Unilever, P&G, Office of the Prime Minister, Byre Strophe, Toyota, Coca-Cola, L’Oreal, Colgate-Palmolive and AIS.

Khemthat Pholdetch, director at MCOT TV channel, said TV ad spending is seen continuing to grow in August despite the industry’s seasonally doldrums period, helped by advertisers’ delayed spending under the economic situation for the previous period.

Neilson said the industry’s spending in TV advertisement from January through July totaled to 49.47 billion baht remained 4.36 percent lower than the same period a year ago.
